Producer-Director
Public Pictures AI - Dennis Mohr is an award-winning documentary film producer and director, and founder of Public Pictures. His films are distributed worldwide and available on a variety of international public broadcasting channels and online streaming services. The documentary MUGSHOT produced for TVO and Knowledge Network, premiered at Hot Docs in 2014. The film was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Writing in a Documentary Program or Series and received a Yorkton Film Festival Golden Sheaf award for Best Arts and Culture Documentary (2014). The acclaimed feature documentary Remembering Arthur produced for Bravo! and TVO, about filmmaker Arthur Lipsett, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2006 and the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 2007. The film is distributed by The National Film Board of Canada. Disfarmer: A Portrait of America (2010) is a documentary about the life and work of eccentric Arkansas portrait photographer Mike Disfarmer. The film was produced for TVO and The Knowledge Network and garnered numerous awards and accolades. THE RAVENITE is a lighthearted documentary glimpse into a world beyond the serious crimes of the Gotti-era mafia presence in 1980s Little Italy, NYC. The film received the Best Mid Length Documentary Award at DOC LA (2018). Anton: Circling Home is an intimate documentary portrait of NYC artist and pigeon-keeper, Anton van Dalen. The film premiered on AVROTROS Close Up in the Netherlands in December 2020 and received the Best Documentary Portrait Award at DOC LA (2021).
